Progress on cleaning my carpet

This is what the carpet looked like before I started working on my cleanup.

I tried to use many products. After about and hour of work, this is what the carpet looked like.

This is what the area looks like currently. It took me 2 1/2 hours to do this. Right now I'm taking a break from all of the hard work, but I plan on trying to finish up the cleaning later. Wish me luck. I'm looking to save myself from having to buy new carpeting for the whole room. I'm afraid that Cheesehead won't be satisfied if I can't get the paint out any more than this.

What did you say you were using? That's new carpet too isn't it? I did this once to my brother when we were kids==but it was glue. That glue stayed there till I moved out some 12yrs later. The house was sold with that glue mess. That would bother the snot out of me. I'd be up three days getting it out. Right now I wish I was there so I could try hot water--etc. I'd drag you to Walmart and get some of that oxyclean stuff--and if that didn't work....we'd be off to try gasoline and set the house on fire. I guess you don't need me!!!

Anna- LOL! It occured to me after I was stupid enough to let the paint dry that I have a shopvac. DUH!

So I made a 1:1 solution of fabric softner and watter. I sprayed the area and saturated it as fully as humanly possible. I then took out a paint scrapper until I made the carpet feel like the rest of the carpet in the room. Next I took out two more rolls of paper towels and the shopvac. When the shopvac stopped pulling the paint out I used the paper towels.

Once I did that, I took every carpet cleaner I owned. (Shaw carpet and upholstery, Resolve, 2 cans of spot chomp, and a 3 M carpet cleaning kit) Oh, and then there's my kirby carpet cleaning kit and carpet shampoo! Actually I had surprisingly many! I used ALL of them. Not something I would probably normally do, but Cheesehead wanted to replace the carpet in the room anyway. The worst that would happen is I make a bad chemical reaction that burned a hole in the caret or something.

I need to go buy more carpet cleaning solutions today, I'm fresh out!
