I just had to snicker today. On my way to help with the D.A.R.E. graduation this morning I saw a man walking down the highway with a case of beer. His head was bent down toward the ground, his free arm was blocking the attempting to block the wind from his face, and he was ankle deep in heavy wet snow. There was a driving wind, the trees were swaying so hard, I thought for sure that some of them would topple over! I think I heard that the wind was gusting up to 31 miles per hour.
Ha, all of this snow and wind and what was he worried about? The essentials? Heck no. Beer! Well, I suppose he must have though that beer was essential. Me? I'd be buying milk instead. I sure as heck wouldn't be out walking in this weather either, but maybe I'm just lazy?
Thank you for stopping by. Please leave me a message and a backlink. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I just know in my heart that man was trying to get home to make beer cheese soup for his wife so she wouldn't have to make dinner tonight! LOL...NOT! :)
Happy Friday to you!
That's a good one, beer cheese soup! cinj I looked up your weather and I am sending the warmest hugs your way and here is a site that might be interesting it's wild flowers, grasses trees etc of wisconsin! http://www.for-wild.org/land/wibirdpl.html

Maybe it was for beer battered catfish?
Kathi- Ha! Ya, right. I guess that beer cheese soup had to cook an awful long time since this happened at around 9 this morning....
Gail- Thanks. I could use all the warmth I can get right about now. You should see all of these huge fat snowflakes flying by the window in the semi-dark gloom.
Debbie- Oh, beer battered cod and onion rings would be delish too. Not sure he'd need a whole case for that recipe. Maybe he was having a lot of guests over....
Your weather might drive me to drink!! He might be the only sane person left up there and the rest of you are on the brink of insanity. It could be his only means of warmth--roflmbo!! I did the roflmbo just for you and left one at deb's place too on her dh's thread. I never realized I said that so much till you teased me about it--and that's another reason to start drinking.
I'm working on something cool this weekend. Not going to tell till Sunday.
Hey ... it might have been a Canadian beer that he KNEW would warm both his wife and himself just nice and toasty ? (we know our beer is better after all .. hehehe) .. typical Canadian gesture with combining exercise, winter training style and a "carrot on a stick" reward to keep him going ? ... my god ... you have Canadians living there with you guys after all ! LOL

Sounds like a true Redneck-uh um-did I say that? No truly, a Tennessean.
Ha!!!! And hey, I love all the ideas about recipes. Beer and cheese soup and beer-battered onion rings! That works for me. Maybe along with some beer-batter bread, and a little left over as a hair rinse... And, Tina, please, we Tennesseans would be pitying the frozen beer drinkers over our whiskey sours and bourbon-and-Cokes. Anna, stop torturing us with that container. Show and tell, girl!
ourfreindben-My apologies-forgot the whiskey too. Home of Lynchburg lemonade and Jack Daniels? Can you tell I am a non-drinker? lol
Sounds like a man on a mission! ;-)
Anna- No kidding! I don't like the taste of alcohol, but I'm sure that's why so many people up here DO drink!
Spill the beans already. You KNOW how impatient I am. Ha, and you talk about ME teasing!
Joy- Could be, but I can think of a better way to keep warm than drinking;). (Did I just SAY that?)
Tina- Yup. Why do you think I had to laugh?
Ellen- I knew there was something I forgot to do with the left over beer from our beer battered fish on Wednesday. DANG!
Lin- No fooling. At least I could commend him on his dedication to his... er... hobby?
