Peek-a-boo!

Finally! Look who's come out of hiding. Finally, a sign that the end of this endless winter is almost over. Now, if I didn't have so much snow on the rest of my yard....

I don't cut back my plants in the fall like I'm "supposed" to, I like to be able to see where plants should be growing in the spring!

Here is a link to the post I did in February http://cbmvwag.blogspot.com/2008/02/did-someone-say-winter-gardens.html
Remember that cat cat statue that I told you about? Well, this is what it looks like when it's not covered by a blanket of snow!

Here is the angel bird feeder. She was almost completely buried too, I think you could see her arm before.... She's almost unthawed too. Poor thing! I bet she wishes she had some shoes to keep her bare feet a bit warmer.

This is my first "live" looking plant outside so far this year. No blooms yet, but at least it's green! I can't remember what this plant's name was, but I still have the tag around my garage some where!
Leave me a message and a backlink. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hi Cinj, the green plant could be a creeping phlox, that's my vote.

As for cutting your plants back in the fall, I don't believe that's the right thing at all. In my garden I leave all the foliage there so it mulches the plant just as Mother Nature would mulch it out in the wild. See, you were doing it right all along!

Are you high on chocolate yet?

Hey you! I just sent dh to bed and now I can chat. I like your pics--cute statues. I don't own one single bird feeder but do own a bird house. I bet when you put bird seed in the lady, she looks like the bird lady in Mary Poppins?? or do I have the right movie?? I haven't watched kids movies in forever. I agree you plant looks like creeping phlox.

Oh, yes! It is. The pink and white striped one. I planted a quite a few plants last summer, but not enough in my opinion.

Kids were high on chocolate. They got a ton! I tried not to eat too much, but it was hard! I had a cadbury's creme egg and a couple of those reese's peanut butter eggs along with a handful of starburst jelly beans.

I suppose there's not a whole lot of need for bird feeders down south. I don't always put seed in them. Sometimes I do water instead. Some people might say I have too much stuff in my yard. Oh well!

Sorry, my kids are more into the cartoon movies with animals in them. Maybe when they get a bit older? We watched Mary Poppins once last summer and the kids were bored to tears.
